About the Artist
From equations and spreadsheets, to brushstrokes and canvases. After an almost 20-year career in business and finance, Chadwick Arcinue decided it was time to pursue his passion for art. He established the Chadwick Concepts in 2018, and in so doing transformed a hobby that began in 2003, when he was an MBA student in Boston, to full-time passion in painting creatively.
Never imagining that he would ever “pick up the brush”, and having received no formal training in art, Chadwick relied on his inner guidance and experimentation to get him through the creation of his first painting, Boston, an impressionist work, executed in rich shades of pink, with blushes of deep purple and fuchsia. This Impressionist style characterized many of his succeeding works from 2003 through 2013 (a period he fondly
recalls as his “Impressionist roots”). He has since evolved into more abstract and expressionist works, but seldom departs from his love of color and texture.
Chadwick’s current body of work is broad and varied, constantly shifting and always growing. Recently, he has become enamored with certain recurring themes; the bold, brisk, and brusque brushstrokes of his Seascape clouds and waves. At center stage are the highly textured backgrounds and flowing
geometric forms of his new Dreamscapes. He has become fond of the color red, in various shades, shapes, forms, and textures.
To this day, more than 15 years since his first painting, Chadwick continues to explore and experiment with different mediums, styles, subjects and concepts. From brushstrokes and canvases, to ideas and discovery.
Originally from Manila, Philippines, Chadwick keeps a studio in Hoboken, NJ, a short drive from Weehawken, where he and his wife Leanne live, or a quick ferry ride to Manhattan, to his gallery in Chelsea.
